The promotion that God offers

Radio meditation and prayer by: Evangelist Sieberen Voordewind

Dear listener. I am so glad that you’re listening to this radio broadcast right now because I have some great news for you. The Living God wants to give you a promotion! Yes, you have been created by him with a purpose. You are not on this earth accidentally. You are not here to waste your life. You aren’t placed here to run around in circles for years and years as a slave.
God has created you with one or more talents. You can read about this in the bible, in Matthew chapter 25. It isn’t part of the plan for you to bury your talents. You are to use your talents in honor of Gods name. And God wants to bless you for this. Yes, he even wants to exalt you. The Bible says in Psalm 75:6-7 “No one from the east or the west or from the desert can exalt a man. But it is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another”. It is God who can exalt you. Expect your promotion, your prosperity, and your blessings, not from man but from the Living God through whom everything is possible.

We can read about the life of Joseph in the bible which is a beautiful example of this. Genesis Chapter 37 tells us that Joseph had dreams. Promotion often begins with a dream. God wanted to give Joseph a promotion. Now, if he would have stayed home, he would probably have become the tribal chief. He could probably have become the head of his entire family, cattle and servants alike. But God a better plan for him. For his promotion he would first have to go through some real lows in life though.

One day he, Joseph was thrown in a well by his brothers. His situation in a human sense was hopeless. All hope for promotion was quickly fading. The worst place for his promotion was that deep well. But God had created Joseph with a purpose. God wanted to promote Joseph. Therefore the moment came that he was freed from that well. God allowed for him to be sold and taken to a foreign country. Joseph had to move in order to receive his promotion. There in that foreign country Joseph received his promotion in the house of Potifar. He became manager, chef. Was that all? No, God had even more in store for him. But first he would have to go through more of life’s lows. He was innocently put in jail. But in jail he received another promotion. He became manager and consultant in jail. It looked as though this was it for him. But God had even more in store for him. When the people had forgotten all about him, God remembered him. God pulled him out of jail and made him: Viceroy!

God’s plan for Joseph’s life was not to be the tribal chief but to be viceroy! The road that he had to travel to get there went over mountains and through valleys. But God was always with him.

What does this say about your life? The Living God has a plan for your life! He wants to be with you and give you a promotion. Now, you may once have had a dream for your life and now all hope seems faded. At one time you had a goal in mind but through struggles in you life you’ve given up on that goal. Maybe you are broken inside with grief because all of your dreams or that one big dream is shattered. Or maybe just as it was with Joseph, you have been put aside by people, thrown in a well of misery, falsely accused. Oh, but don’t forget that God is there for you! Your promotion does not come from man but from the Living God through which everything is possible! No matter how deep you are in misery, no matter how big the problem, how hopeless your circumstance seems: the Lord God can and wants to give you a promotion. God has a destination plan for your life. And even if people have forgotten about you: God sees you. He knows you and has not forgotten about you. Do not despair for God has not forgotten about you. Be patient because the time will come that God will bless you.

The day will come that God will give you more then you had expected to receive. All you have to do is what it says in the bible in James 4:10 “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” Yes, humble yourself for the Lord. Which means to say: Do as he says. Read the Bible, belief in the Bible and do as the Bible says. Do not expect your promotion from man but from the Living God. Even if the road you’re on takes you through deep valleys: remain a follower of Jesus Christ, the son of the Living God and He will exalt you. He can change your circumstances in a single moment.

And therefore I pray for you:

“O almighty God and Father. In the name of Jesus I come to you with each listener who wants to be blessed, exalted by you. We don’t want to doubt but believe that in you all things are possible. And therefore I pray to you: May at this very moment, Your saving, rescuing, freeing and healing power go out to each of those who are listening and to Your servant. Will you give prosperity, exaltation, promotion to each one of the followers of Jesus Christ? We thank you for the amazing things that you are going to do. Amen.
